Cascia - a village uphill


Last week I was in Umbria and I went to visit a village where many people go on pilgrimage to the monastery of Santa Rita, the village is called near Cascia and Norcia and Spoleto. I went to eat lunch something local ... It is not the same thing, but I finally did catch as always from the landscape.

Io non sono un credente, o almeno non so bene a cosa credere, ma sarei comunque curioso di visitare gli interni del vaticano e le cripte delle chiese... Perche mi danno l'impressione di nascondere tanti misteri. (ma dove?)
Il convento di S.Rita posizionato in cima al paese è molto suggestivo, ma ovviamente solo la chiesa è visitabile al pubbblico. Quindi mi sono dovuto accontentare. Nonostante ciò, arrivati in vetta si può godere di un bellissimo paesaggio, di queste montagne che cullano nella loro valle questo paesino, di persone che vivino di turismo e spiritualità.

Essendo appunto in salita, il paese è pieno di scale, e se non si è allenti si fa davvero fatica a girarlo.
Ma dopo la fatica, fermarsi in un alimentari del posto, sentire il profumo dei salumi e dei formaggi e riempirsi la pancia con due bei panini imbottiti, non ha prezzo credetemi :)

Portofino - Never give it for granted


Qualche settimana fa in una grigia Domenica, mi sono diretto verso Genova. Dopo la visita all'acquario mi era rimasto ancora un po di tempo, e così mentre scendevo in giù per tornare in toscana mi è venuta un idea. Visto che era di passaggio, perche non fermarsi a Portofino?

Praticamente tutti conoscono questo piccolo comune di soli 500 abitanti, che si affaccia sul mare e che ha catturato l'interesse di tante persone e registi.

Nel Golfo del Tigullio e a Portofino in particolare sono state girate negli anni novanta diverse pellicole cinematografiche italiane e straniere. Nel 1992 il borgo è stato il set per alcune scene del film Un incantevole aprile - ambientato negli anni venti - del regista Mike Newell con protagonisti diversi attori quali Miranda Richardson.

Nel 1995 i registi Michelangelo Antonioni e Wim Wenders scelsero il borgo rivierasco come sfondo del film erotico-sentimentale Beyond the clouds with John Malkovich and Sophie Marceau. Portofino has also hosted two thousand years the cast of the soap opera Beautiful American and Italian Centovetrine filming some episodes of the television series.

This led me to go there with all good intentions, but as usual tourist exploitation of the place has ruined everything.

Sempre nel vialetto che percorro ogni mattina per andare a lavoro c'è un albero. (quello scuro che vedete nella foto) Quest'albero è solo soletto, in mezzo al prato. Purtroppo pur essendo primavera non so perche ma non riesce a fiorire. Mentre invece tutti gli altri alberelli hanno la loro bella chioma piena di fiori e bocci.
